    Orlando’s

    Jalonsville, New Jersey

    Episode 01

Todd runs Orlando’s and won’t give credit even to old friends. Louis comes here for cigarettes, which Todd swears he doesn’t have, until Louis guesses that the woman Todd is besotted with is Felicity. A photograph of her buys a pack. When Todd asks for one of Anna too, the two men come to blows.

    Episode 03

The cold snap has been good for business. Todd has made up with Louis, and the bar has regulars: Gordon, down from New York for the drink, Lesly mourning her missing cat, Kyril with his riddles and Mev with her liver of reinforced concrete. Each of them knows something about Anna, and each wants something first.

Todd keeps his grand-uncle’s Remington behind the counter and his good bottles in the reserve at the back, which Louis needs to get into.

    Trivia

    • Orlando’s is named after “The Orlando”, a bar in the French cult film La Classe américaine (1993), as Alexandre Leboucher told us himself.
    • The game files call the Episode 01 bar “FastFood”, and its exit just reads “BAR”. In Episode 03 it is “Orlando”.
    • The bar stool is sacred: Todd tells everybody Elvis sat on it in Memphis in 1963, and nobody but Todd may touch it.
    • Orlando’s has no competition: the only other fast food in Jalonsville “mysteriously exploded awhile ago”.
    • Biff, the bum outside Goodman’s warehouse in New York, used to hang out here in his youth, and Fred at the gas station comes to play music with friends.
