    The Everetts’ house

    Jalonsville, New Jersey

    Episode 01

Every game of 1112 starts here. Louis wakes in the bedroom to the alarm clock reading 11:12, two hours late on the day Goodman is due at the shop. Anna is already up, with her forbidden cigarette and her coffee.

The house is the whole first act of Episode 01: Louis fixes the boiler in the toilet off the hall when Anna’s bath runs cold, digs his Valex out of the bedroom safe, hunts down Anna’s car keys and her account book, and reads the email Felicity has sent him on the computer in the corridor. The couple’s DTC waits in the garden for the drive into town.

    Episode 03

Six months later, in the middle of winter, the house has been wrecked. Furniture is overturned, the rooms are covered in strange graffiti and Anna is gone. Louis photographs the damage as evidence for the police.

Episode 03 opens up parts of the house the first game never showed: a cellar reached through a padlocked trapdoor in the garden, and stairs to the attic, which was still being renovated the last time Louis saw it. It is now a finished study, and Anna has taken it over as her office, with her laptop and a Moroccan ceiling lamp Louis hates. A path from the garden leads to Pineview Alley and the neighbours.

Anna’s laptop holds emails about an unusual transaction on her bank account and about the cult members around the “Exit”. When the study phone rings, the line carries voices and what sounds like gunfire, over and over, and Louis records it on a dictaphone for the police.
