    Jean-Edouard Fages

    Known as Jed

Before Agharta, Jed was an environment level designer at Arkane Studios on Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (2006), and did additional development on Call of Duty: World at War. He joined Agharta in 2012 to work on 3D and design. He is credited for additional art on Episode 03, where he also lent his face to Fish.[2][3][4][5]

At Agharta he worked on Shufflepuck Cantina, Epic Dragon and SteamCrew, which won Oculus’ Mobile VR Jam in 2015.[5][6]

In September 2013 he and Aurélien talked to Lyon Capitale about Epic Dragon VR, Kickstarter and life as independent developers, and he appears in both of Daily VR’s interviews with the studio.[7][8][1]

He now lives in Normandy, makes small games in Godot for game jams, and offers mentoring in 3D modelling and game design.[9]

    1. 6:49Agharta Studio on Daily VR, 2013Daily VR · 17 September 2013In a pub in Lyon, Alexandre Leboucher and Jean-Edouard Fages, with Mathieu Collangettes of Black Muffin Studio, talk about Epic Dragon, their game for the Oculus VR Jam: steered with the head alone at 60 frames a second so that players don’t feel sick, drawn from Jean-Edouard’s idea in the style of 80s heroic fantasy paintings, with Black Muffin making the 3D art and Aurélien Kerbeci putting it in the game. Then Shufflepuck Cantina, a successor to the 80s Shufflepuck Café on its way to Steam, whose original creators turned out to be fans of it; and 1112, whose Episode 04 waits on the studio’s finances, with a full 3D Oculus version “not unthinkable”. 2. 20:44Agharta Studio on Daily VR, 2015Daily VR · 27 March 2015Nick of Enter The Rift talks with Jean-Edouard Fages and Aurélien Kerbeci, just back from GDC 2015: the co-operative game they’re planning for the Gear VR’s VR Jam, where two players with different roles play together (the jam’s entry became SteamCrew VR), bringing Epic Dragon to the Gear VR, and trying the HTC Vive and Oculus’ Crescent Bay. Asked about 1112, they explain why Episode 04 is hard to fund: players now expect longer episodes, and being noticed on the App Store takes a marketing budget. It’s “Alex’s baby”, they say, meaning Alexandre Leboucher, and crowdfunding is being considered. In French, with English captions.Captions
