    Valerian Taramon

    Known as Val

Val was 1112’s art director and 2D artist. He came from Étranges Libellules with Alex, where he had illustrated The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon and Alice in Wonderland, and the two shared a flat while making 1112.[2][3][4]

He drew Louis by blending Alex with Johnny Depp; most of the cast are drawn from the team’s friends and family.[2]

He is the face of the jeweller in Episode 02, Salvator Ensei, who runs the jewellery shop at the foot of the Bellevue Hotel: the studio’s own team illustration draws Val as him, glasses and tie, with his name underneath.[5]

He left Agharta a little before Alex, for personal reasons, and has since been a character concept artist on games including Wolfenstein II, Anno 1800, Wolfenstein: Youngblood and New World.[2][4][6]

Based in Lyon, he describes himself today as a senior character designer, concept artist and lead with over thirty years in illustration and games, specialising in realistic characters and production-ready concept art. He has worked with IO Interactive, Ubisoft Blue Byte and MachineGames (through GFactory), on Hitman, Wolfenstein and Anno 1800, and lists himself as a co-founder of Agharta Studio. He now works freelance.[1][6]
